From Preparation to Progress: Your Esther Moment Might Be Now
Sometimes, the biggest barrier to moving forward isn’t a lack of opportunity—it’s hesitation.
We wait for the “perfect moment” to arrive. We convince ourselves that we’ll act when things settle down, when the timing is right, or when we feel ready.
But here’s the reality: there will never be a “perfect” time.
What there will be is a right time—God’s time. And that’s the moment we need to act.
Esther’s Moment of Courage
Esther 2:15 says, “And Esther won the favor of everyone who saw her.”
This wasn’t just a stroke of luck—it was the result of God’s preparation meeting the moment He had ordained.
Esther had gone through months of preparation before being brought before the king. Everything in her life up to that point—the challenges, the waiting, the uncertainty—had prepared her for the exact moment when she needed to step forward.
She could have hesitated. She could have doubted. But instead, she acted.
The Trap of Hesitation
We often get stuck because we think:
“I don’t have enough experience.”
“I’m not ready yet.”
“What if I fail?”
Hesitation feels safe, but it’s actually where dreams go to die. We can miss the very opportunities God places in our path simply because we’re frozen in waiting mode.
Recognizing the Stirring
God often stirs our hearts before He moves our feet. That stirring might look like:
A prompting to go to that next networking event.
The nudge to pick up the phone and call that referral.
The conviction to start that project you’ve been putting off.
Whatever it is for you, that stirring is an invitation to take action—not someday, but today.
Action Turns Preparation into Progress
God can’t steer a parked car. The moment you start moving, He can guide your steps. Just like Esther, you don’t need to have everything figured out—you just need to be faithful with the moment you’ve been given.
So ask yourself: What’s one action I can take today that moves me toward the work God has prepared for me?
Take it.
Trust Him with the outcome.
And watch how preparation turns into progress.
