Labor Day Wake-Up: 8 Months Down, 4 to Go

September 01, 20252 min read

Today is Labor Day — a national moment to pause, reflect, and rest.

But it’s also something else:

A calendar checkpoint.

It’s September 1st.
Which means we’ve officially moved through 8 months of 2025.

Only 4 months remain in the year.

Let that sink in.

At the beginning of the year, maybe you set big goals.
You felt momentum.
You had vision.
You made a commitment to step into something new — maybe even launch a business coaching practice.

But here’s the question you need to ask:

Are you where you hoped you’d be?

And if not…

What will it take to get there?

Time Doesn’t Wait

We often tell ourselves we’ll get started when things slow down.
Or when the kids are back in school.
Or after this next project.
Or after summer.

But now summer is gone.
And the window is closing.

Not in a fear-driven way — but in a real way.
Because the year doesn’t pause for us to feel more “ready.”

The Dangerous Myth of “Later”

“Later” is the most deceptive word in growth.

It feels safe.
But it silently steals opportunities, time, and potential.

Before you know it, Q4 is here, and the dreams you wrote down in January are still sitting on the shelf.

So let me ask again:
What will it take to move forward?
What would happen if you stopped waiting for the perfect moment…
…and started building with what you have?

You Still Have Time

Here’s the encouraging part:
Four months is plenty of time to make significant progress.

You can build momentum.
You can take ground.
You can finish this year with more clarity, confidence, and direction than you started with.

But it won’t happen by accident.
It will take intention, focus, and faith-fueled action.

Because as Christian professionals, we don’t just build for profit.
We build for purpose.
We build to steward what we’ve been entrusted with.
And sometimes, that means stepping forward even when everything isn’t figured out.

Final Thought

Labor Day is a celebration of hard work — but it can also be a wake-up call.

There’s still time.
But it starts with clarity.
And clarity begins with a decision.

Eight months are behind you.
What will you do with the four that remain?
