Overcoming the 'Not Enough' Trap as a Christian Business Coach
Ever have that feeling of “not enough?”
You know the one, right? It's the persistent worry about financial security, the underlying anxiety that there isn't enough opportunity, clients, or resources to go around. It’s remarkably easy to get ensnared in this "scarcity trap."
For us as Christian business coaches, this feeling can manifest as a genuine struggle to lean into God as our ultimate provider fully. Instead of confidently trusting in His boundless abundance, we might inadvertently find ourselves operating from a place of fear and apprehension.
But let's remember a powerful promise from the Bible. Philippians 4:19 reminds us, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." This isn't just a comforting verse; it's a foundational truth for approaching our businesses.
This fear of lack can profoundly impact many critical areas of our business operations. Think about it:
How we price our services: Are we undercharging because we fear our worth will not be recognized or that clients will not pay what we truly deserve?
Our confidence in making sales: Do we hesitate to truly advocate for our services or feel apologetic when discussing fees, stemming from a belief that we might be taking from a limited pie?
Even our willingness to give generously to others: Does the thought of investing in others or offering pro bono work feel daunting because we're convinced it will diminish what we have?
Each of these points relates directly to whether we are operating from a mindset of scarcity or abundance.
Jesus Himself offered profound wisdom on this in Matthew 6:33: "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." This isn't just about spiritual priorities; it's a blueprint for life, including our business lives.
Embracing an abundance mindset – truly believing that God has us covered – is a significant shift, but it is also an incredibly freeing. It empowers us to conduct our businesses with peace, confidence, and generosity, knowing that our ultimate provision comes from an inexhaustible source.
Just something powerful to ponder today as you navigate your coaching journey.
