The Mid-Year Check-In: Realigning Our Faith and Focus

June 11, 20252 min read

Remember that feeling on January 1st? The fresh start, the crisp pages of a new planner, the boundless energy as you mapped out all your business dreams for the year ahead? We all kick off the year with this amazing surge of excitement, a clear vision of what we want to achieve, how we want to grow, and the impact we want to make. It's a truly exhilarating time!

But if you're anything like most of us, including myself sometimes, that initial clarity and excitement can get a little hazy by the time we hit the middle of the year. Suddenly, you might find yourself feeling a bit perplexed, a little confused, or even wrestling with a lack of clarity about your direction. The path that seemed so clear in January can now feel overgrown with doubts and distractions. You might even wonder if you're still on the right track or if those big goals are even attainable.

This is a really common experience, and it's precisely at this point that our faith becomes our anchor. It's easy to rely on our own strength and initial enthusiasm, but when the going gets tough or the vision blurs, that's when we need to lean on something bigger.

Think about Proverbs 16:3: "Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established." This isn't just about praying over our business plans; it's about surrendering the outcome to God and trusting that when we align our efforts with His will, He will bring clarity and stability to our thoughts and actions.

And then there's the incredible comfort and direction found in Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." This scripture speaks directly to those moments of confusion or anxiety we might feel mid-year. It encourages us to lay our concerns, our lack of clarity, and our mid-year perplexities before God with a thankful heart. The promise? A peace that goes beyond anything we can understand, guarding our minds and hearts and helping us refocus.

So, this isn't a time to get discouraged. Instead, it's a powerful opportunity for a spiritual and strategic reset. It's the moment to truly ask the Lord to continue to keep us on track for our goals and dreams. It's about inviting Him back into the driver's seat, allowing Him to provide the clarity, direction, and unwavering focus we need to push through the second half of the year and achieve everything we set out to do.

Let's use this mid-year moment to realign, refocus, and move forward with renewed faith and purpose!
